Our current fundraising effort is directed towards our new office lease expense. We have a goal of raising $7,500 during 2019 to cover our office expense. Our office will be used to complete free current and prior year tax returns throughout the year. In only eight months in 2018, we completed over 75 prior year returns. Additionally, we mailed those returns that could not be e-filed ensuring that the old returns were filed with the Federal and State agencies and the taxpayers were spared the cost.
Davis Tax Foundation is recognized as a non-profit charitable foundation by the Internal Revenue Service. Donations are considered charitable contributions for federal tax purposes.
Your donation goes to providing equipment such as printers and computers to prepare free tax returns in the community. Your donations are also used to provide refreshments to the dedicated volunteers who prepare the returns and receive no compensation for their volunteer duties. The volunteers give up their valuable time for eleven Saturdays during the tax season to ensure that taxpayers receive all the tax credits and benefits they are legally entitled to receive.
